I’m Xiaoxu Lyu, also known as Johnny, a New York–based visual artist and recent MFA Computer Arts graduate from the School of Visual Arts.
My work focuses on VFX, AI-assisted visual workflows, and music-related visual design, exploring how images can shape emotional experiences and strengthen storytelling.
I’m particularly interested in combining live action, VFX, and emerging technologies to create immersive and expressive visual content. My practice moves between realistic simulations, stylized sci-fi environments, and experimental visual systems, with an emphasis on developing a distinct and coherent visual language.
